It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of William “Bill” F. Nitch, Jr., Greenville, PA on March 11, 2026 at UPMC-Horizon in Farrell. He was 69 years old.
Bill worked his entire life, starting at a very young age. He retired after working many years as a millwright in the Maintenance Department at Sharon/Wheatland Tube. He was knowledgeable in several areas and could be referred to as a jack-of-all-trades.
Bill was a friend to everyone who knew him, and would help anyone in need without expecting something in return.
Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time on the water in his boat. He enjoyed the companionship of man’s best friend and always owned dogs. Bill cherished his long-time friendships, especially with John Goodemote and Jim Tooles.
Bill is survived by his wife of 46 years, Melissa (“Missy”); 2 sons – William III (“Will”) and Nathan (“Nate”) (Jeanette); 4 grandchildren – Beia and Maya (Nate/Jeanette) and Billy and Stevie Mae (Will); 2 sisters – Karen McCumb (Guy) and Kathy Dillinger (Jeffrey); sister-in-law Cathy Shacklock (Butch), 1 niece, and 4 nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, mother-in-law, stepmother and father-in-law, brother-in-law, and daughter-in-law.
