William E. Kerpan, age 76, of Columbia Ave., Greenville passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 5, 2025, in Andover Village Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.
He was born in Greenville on September 30, 1948 to John W. and Vonda J. (Eastlake) Kerpan. Bill was a 1966 graduate of Greenville High School where he excelled in Football. He attended Kent State University and Edinboro University and was a 1991 graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. Bill was employed as a Funeral Director at the former John W. Kerpan Funeral Home and also had been employed for a short time at Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home. Additionally, Bill had previously been employed at the former Greenville Steel Car and for Peter J. Schmitt Co.
He was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville. Bill was a life member and past Exalted Ruler of B. P. O. E. #145; a life member of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity; and a past member of Greenville VFW Post #3374, the Italian Home Club, and Greenville Moose #276. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Indians and the Boston Celtics.
On March 12, 1983, Bill married the former Shirley A. Banic; she survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Matthew Kerpan of Harrisburg; three stepsons: Thomas L. Faber, Douglas T. (Debra) Faber, and Robert P. (Joanna) Faber, all of Greenville; a brother, John D. Kerpan of AZ; and four grandchildren: Lauren, Kaitlyn, Sam, and Luke.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
Services:
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, 8/11/25, in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 85 N. High St. Greenville with Fr. Raymond Gramata as Celebrant. Family and friends will be received from 3:00-5:00 PM on Sunday, 8/10/25, in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville. An ELKS Remembrance Service will be held in the Funeral Home at the conclusion of the Visitation. Inurnment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Home Services of B. P. O. E. #145, 28 6th Ave. Greenville, PA 16125 or The Alzheimer’s Association P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
