Warren R. “Budge” Keck III, age 82, of Greenville passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 29, 2025.

He was born in Greenville on May 6, 1943 to Warren R. Keck Jr. and Beulah (Burch) Keck. Warren was a 1961 graduate of Greenville High School and graduated from Allegheny College in 1965 with his B. A. in History. He attended Dickinson School of Law, Carlisle, PA, graduating in 1968 with a Juris Doctor degree, and commenced private practice at the firm of Voorhies, Dilley, Keck, Rowley & Wallace in the Fall of 1968, after passing the Pennsylvania Bar Exam. Warren was a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and was a past president of the Mercer County Bar Association. He was admitted to practice in all of the Courts of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as well as the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Warren was the second Public Defender in Mercer County for approximately two and one-half years, commencing in 1969 and then served as Assistant District Attorney for another two and one-half years under Joseph J. Nelson. He served as United States Trustee for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and served as solicitor for numerous municipalities in Mercer County as well as the Municipal Authority for the Borough of Greenville.

He served as the President of the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce, the Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army, and the Chairman of the Administrative Board of the First United Methodist Church of Greenville as well as its Lay Leader. Warren was a member of the Greenville Rotary Club and served as its President. He was named Rotarian of the Year after initiating and organizing the first Greenville Rotary Radio Day. Warren was a Board member of Greenville Savings Bank and served as its Secretary and Solicitor. He also previously had been active with the Greenville Men’s Roundtable.

Warren served as an Adjunct Professor of Business Law at Thiel College for over twenty-nine years.

He loved hunting and fishing, and he was certified in 1974 as a scuba diver. He was a member of the Erie Yacht Club and a past member and president of the Iroquois Boating and Fishing Club, Conneaut Lake. Warren and his family enjoyed diving in the Caribbean and the Florida Keys. He was an avid sailor, sailing on Lake Erie and bare boating in the British Virgin Islands and the Florida Keys. He held the U.S. Coast Guard 100 Ton Masters Captains License.

On June 19, 1965 Warren married his high school sweetheart, the former Nancy Herrick. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this June at the Erie Yacht Club with family and friends.

Warren is survived by a daughter, Deborah (Greg) Stagon of North Huntingdon, PA; a son, Warren R. (Dana) Keck IV of Erie; and two grandchildren, Warren R. (Lacey) Keck V and Wesley Keck.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and sister, Judy (Ted) Young.

Services:

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, 10/5/25, in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville with Rev. Julia Fraser officiating. Family and friends will be received in the Funeral Home on 10/5/25 from 2:00 PM until time of service. Inurnment will be in Shenango Valley Cemetery.
