Velma C. Splitstone

Velma C. Splitstone, age 81, of Probst Rd., Greene Twp., Jamestown passed away Wednesday morning, May 28, 2025, in UPMC Presbyterian.

She was born in Youngstown, OH on January 21, 1944 to Cecil and Alberta (Reinhardt) McKown and was a 1963 graduate of Jamestown High School. Velma had been employed as a waitress at various restaurants in the local area for many years.

She was a member of Adamsville Presbyterian Church and the Jamestown Firemen’s Club Auxiliary. Velma’s other interests included gardening, reading, and most of all spending time with and taking care of her family.

On December 10, 1965, she married Ronald E. Splitstone; he passed away May 1, 2025.

Velma is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Splitstone and Sheryl Splitstone; two sons, Rodney (Karen) Splitstone and Bryan Splitstone, all of Jamestown; two grandchildren, Amber and Twylah; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ellen Hereford; and a granddaughter, Ashley Riley.

Services:

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, 6/2/25, in Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown, with Tom Moore officiating. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Sunday, 6/1/25, from 3:00 – 5:00 PM. Burial will be in Rocky Glen Cemetery, Adamsville. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions to assist the family with funeral expenses may be made to Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
