Stephen G. Young

Stephen G. Young, age 64, of Plum St., Greenville, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening, July 22, 2026, in his residence.

He was born in Greenville on August 13, 1961 to Jerry M. and Gertrude A. “Trudy” (Wilson) Young. Steve was a 1980 graduate of Greenville High School and received his welding certification from the New Castle School of Trades. He was employed for the past eight years as a forklift operator at NVENT (formerly ILSCO Extrusions) and had previously been employed at Colonial Metal Products and the former Werner Co.

Steve was a Jacksonville Jaguars fan and also enjoyed golfing, hunting, poker, playing computer games and spending time with his grandson.

On February 22, 1991, he married the former Nancy J. Goblinger; she survives.

Also surviving are his daughter Rachel (Josh) Williams of Somerset; a son, Nicholas Young of Sharon; a sister, Lori (Jon) Clements of Plum; a brother, Andrew (Heidi) Young of Verona; and a grandson, Chase.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents.

Per Steve’s wishes, Cremation was chosen, and no services are planned. Memorial Contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, PO Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741.
