Rose Mary Stumpff, age 98, of Greenville passed away Saturday evening, October 4, 2025, in St. Paul’s Senior Living Community.
She was born in Greenville on March 6, 1927 to Pietro A. and Nellie G. (Morse) DeLaurentis. Rose was a 1945 graduate of Penn High School and a 1946 graduate of Shenango Business Institute. She spent most of her life as a homemaker but had been employed in the accounting departments at Greenville Steel Car, Jamestown Paint Co., and Dart Chevrolet.
Rose was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville where she formerly served as Altar Rosary Society President and volunteered at the school and rectory. She was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and enjoyed knitting, having made several Afghans over the years. Rose also enjoyed word search puzzles and sewing.
On September 13, 1952, she married Paul A. Stumpff; he passed away February 9, 1998.
Rose is survived by a daughter, Anne M. (Mark) Emrich of Hermitage; two sons, Paul F. (Debbie) Stumpff of Geneva, OH and Gerald M. (Sharon) Stumpff of Greenville; and three grandchildren: Sean Emrich, John Stumpff, and Gerald (Holly) Stumpff II.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Grace Stumpff; a sister, Virginia DeLaurentis; and three brothers: Charles, Paul, and Angelo DeLaurentis.
Rose’s family wishes to thank the caring staff members at St. Paul’s and Gentiva Hospice for their compassionate care.
Services:
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, 10/10/25, at 11:30 AM in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church 85 N. High St. Greenville with The Very Rev. V. David Foradori as Celebrant. Family and friends will be received in the Gathering Space of the Church from 10:30 AM until time of Mass. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Michael Roman Catholic Church 85 N. High St. Greenville, PA 16125 or St. Paul’s Senior Living Community, 339 E. Jamestown Rd. Greenville PA 16125.
