Ronald E. Splitstone, age 80, of Probst Rd., Greene Twp., Jamestown passed away Thursday morning, May 1, 2025, in his residence after a brief illness.
He was born in Warren, OH on August 29, 1944 to Robert and Alta (Sample) Splitstone. Ron was a 1963 graduate of Conneaut Lake High School and had retired following 35 years of employment as a welder at Trinity Industries.
He was a member of Adamsville Presbyterian Church where he had served as an Elder and Trustee. Ron was a member of the Jamestown Firemen’s Club, and he had been a past Volunteer Firefighter, EMT, and SCUBA Team member of the Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department. In the late 1970s, he helped form the Jamestown Midget Football program. Ron was an avid hunter, car-racing enthusiast, and enjoyed spending time at camp.
On December 10, 1965, Ron married the former Velma McKown; she survives at home.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Splitstone and Sheryl Splitstone; two sons, Rodney (Karen) Splitstone and Bryan Splitstone, all of Jamestown; two grandchildren, Amber and Twylah; and five great-grandchildren.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Ashley Riley.
Services:
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, 5/5/25, in Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St., Jamestown, with Tom Moore officiating. Family and friends will be received in the Funeral Home on Sunday, 5/4/25, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Rocky Glen Cemetery, Adamsville. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions to assist the family with funeral expenses may be made to Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
