Ronald E. Scott, age 78, of Clark, PA, passed away Monday morning, October 20, 2025, in Select Specialty, Boardman, OH.

He was born in Greenville on November 10, 1946 to Milton and Jane (Cagno) Scott. Ron was a 1965 graduate of Greenville High School where he served as captain of the football team and excelled at wrestling. He attended Youngstown State University and served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. Ron then served in the U. S. Air Force Reserves and assisted with the crash site recovery of U. S. Air Flight #427 in Hopewell Twp., PA in 1994. He was employed as a Corrections Officer at SCI Mercer from 1978 until his retirement in 2004.

Ron was of the Catholic Faith and formerly had attended St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, Sharpsville. He was a past member of the American Legion and the VFW. Ron loved hunting and fishing and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. He was a collector and enjoyed visiting many antique shops. Ron actively supported his grandchildren in their school activities and other events.

On December 20, 1996, he married the former Linda M. DiGiandomenico; she survives.

In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by two daughters, Eve (Blair) Bateman and Michelle (Gary Jr.) Floch both of Jamestown; two sons, Brian (Melanie) Scott of Land O’ Lakes, FL and Anthony Serafin of Hermitage; two sisters: Dorie (Gary) Champion of Greenville and Diana Scott of OK; two brothers, Kenneth (Robin) Scott of Meadville and David Scott of Greenville; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Irene “Penny” Kidd and Donna Anderson; and a brother, “Jimbo” Scott.

Services:

A Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, 10/24/25, in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville with Fr. John Miller, Pastor of St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church, officiating. Greenville VFW Post #3374 Honor Guard will render Military Honors at the conclusion of the service. Family and friends will be received in the Funeral Home on 10/24/25 from 3:00 PM until time of Service. Memorial Contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans 860 Dolwick Drive, Erlanger, KY 41018.
