Robert W. "Bob" Brown

Robert W. “Bob” Brown, age 71, of U.S. Highway 322 Hartstown, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, in St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on Friday afternoon, October 3, 2025.

He was born in Greenville on November 23, 1953 to Francis Warren and Doris J. (O’Neil) Brown. Bob was a 1972 graduate of Reynolds High School. Since 1978 Bob had been employed as a car salesman at the Phil Godfrey auto dealership, and from 1988 – 2013, he owned and operated Hartstown Golf Course where he continued to be involved with operations following the sale of the course.

Bob was of the Catholic Faith and was a past member of the Jamestown Lions Club. He enjoyed scratch-off lottery tickets, trips to the casino, collecting old and model cars, golfing, refurbishing and selling golf carts with his son, and most of all, spending time with his family.

On April 4, 1990, Bob married the former Kathy L. Palyo; she survives.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Julie (Tony) Sirianni of Columbus, OH, Jodi (Thomas) McClimans of West Middlesex, and Kelly (Adam) Bullock of Cary, NC; a son, Steven Brown and his fiancé Sarah Riley of Greenville; three sisters: Mickey Smith, Becky (Doug) Haylett, and Gerri (Larry) Davis, all of Greenville; three brothers: Mike (Diana) Brown of Clarion, Dan (Carla) Brown of Hermitage, and Bill (Tina) Brown of Jamestown; his mother-in-law, Darla Palyo; seven grandchildren: Michael, Marissa, Tyler, Anthony, Trevor, Sydney, and Ireland; and a great-granddaughter, Ruby.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, a brother-in-law, Rick Smith; and his father-in-law, Robert Palyo.

Services:

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, 10/9/25, in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville with Deacon Marty Aubel of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church officiating. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, 10/8/25, from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in the Funeral Home.
