Rita A. Kagey, age 65, of Warren, OH and formerly of Melbourne, FL, passed away Tuesday morning, October 21, 2025.
She was born in Warren, OH on August 30, 1960 to John L. and Delores G. (Rosencrance) May. Rita was a 1978 graduate of Lakeview High School, Cortland, OH. For over 20 years, she was self-employed as a breeder of Japanese Chin dogs and personally delivered them across the United States to loving homes.
Rita was of the Christian Faith. She was an animal lover and had won many awards in her youth as a member of 4-H. Rita was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and had been a competitive barrel racer. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Aiden Kagey. Rita was a caring person who finished every conversation with “I love you.”
She is survived by her husband, Earl L. Kagey; two sons, John Bolino (Kathryn Gleason) and Brandon Kagey; a brother, Tim (Melissa) May; a grandson, Aiden Kagey; a special friend, Angel Nance; and several nieces and nephews.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Cherie Clapp and Debbie Gearhart; and a special friend, Bill Keehn.

Private Memorial Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
