It is with both smiles and tears that we announce the passing of Dick Schehl, a man who truly knew how to live life to the fullest. Dick left us on September 5, 2024 at the age of 79, and though we are heartbroken, we are also filled with gratitude for the countless memories of joy and laughter he gifted us.

Born on May 13, 1945 in Butler, PA, Dick, also known by many as “The Dickster,” was a one-of-a-kind character known for his practical jokes and socialization at Reynolds. Whether he was setting up a practical joke during a car cruise or pulling off tickets at the VFW, he made everyone around him smile.

Dick leaves behind his spouse- Jean Schehl, son-Chad Schehl, granddaughter-Kendall, daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Patrick Larkin III, grandkids-Paige and Sean, sister-Donna Dulaney, and nephew- Michael and Andrea Dulaney. He is now reunited with his parents, George and Helen Schehl.

We invite all those who knew him to join us in celebrating his life on October 19 from 2pm-4pm at Reynolds VFW Post 7599. Military honors will be rendered by the Reynolds VFW Post 7599 Honor Guard at 4pm. Expect laughter, stories, and perhaps a few tears as we honor Dick Schehl.

We’ll miss him more than words can say, but his spirit will live on in every joke told and every story shared.
