Richard K. Howsare, age 84, of Sugar Grove Twp., Greenville, passed away Saturday morning, February 28, 2026.
He was born in Clearville, PA on July 22, 1941 to Ivan and Thelma (Miller) Howsare. Richard was a 1959 graduate of Fredonia High School. He retired in 2007 as a welder from J. E. B. Fabricating, Sharpsville and previously had been employed as a welder at the former Chicago Bridge & Iron Co.
Richard enjoyed fixing anything, listening to country music, hunting, watching the Pirates, and most of all, spending time with his family.
On June 6, 1962, he married the former Elaine V. “Tootie” Mitchell; she passed away August 3, 2020.
Richard is survived by two daughters, Kimberly (Dan) McMillen and Marcie (Louis) Derloni, both of Hermitage; a sister, Wanda Diehl of Chambersburg, PA; and two grandchildren, Louis Derloni and Anna Derloni.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Betty Hemminger.
Richard’s family wishes to thank the staff of Helping Hands Hospice for their compassionate care.
Services:
A Private Funeral Service will be held in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville, with Chaplain Janet Crespi of Helping Hands Hospice officiating. Burial will be in Delaware Township Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Helping Hands Hospice, 480 N. Kerrwood Dr. Suite 103, Hermitage, PA 16148.
