Ralph M. “Marv” Bonam, age 83, of Liberty St., Jamestown, passed away Tuesday morning, January 27, 2026, in St. Paul’s Senior Living Community.

He was born in Greenville on September 8, 1942 to Ralph H. and Ellen (Zuschlag) Bonam. Marv was a 1960 graduate of Jamestown High School and graduated with honors from Thiel College with his B. A. in Accounting and Business. He retired from the Bessemer & Lake Erie Railroad following 30 years of employment as a machinist, and following retirement, was employed for seven additional years as a machinist with the Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad in Butler.

Marv was a lifelong member of Jamestown Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder. He also was a past member of the former F. & A. M. Adelphic Lodge #424, Jamestown and had formerly served as Scout Leader for Boy Scout Troop #83 of Jamestown. Marv was an avid bowler and enjoyed bicycling, running, cross-country skiing, and walking his dog.

On October 2, 1964, he married the former Shirley A. Bancroft; she survives.

In addition to his wife, Marv is survived by a daughter, Debbie Bonam of Jamestown; a son, Scott (Jennifer) Bonam of Erie; and two grandchildren, Nathan and Jeremy Bonam.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Cindy Turton; and a sister, Marilyn Parker.

Services:

Per Marv’s wishes, Cremation was chosen, and Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Inurnment will be in Shenango Valley Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Jamestown Presbyterian Church Community Service Program, 411 Liberty St. Jamestown, PA 16134.
