Milford James “Jim” Brown, age 98, of Jamestown, passed away Thursday evening, July 16, 2026, in his residence.
He was born in Jamestown on October 14, 1927 to Walter and Margaret Ethel (McCutcheon) Brown. Jim was a graduate of Jamestown High School and served in the U. S. Marine Corps. He was a lifelong dairy and beef farmer and had served as president of the PA Farmers Union and served on the Board of Directors of the Milk Producers Association.
Jim was of the Protestant Faith. He served as the past-president of the Jamestown Fair Board and was a life member of Jamestown VFW Post #5424. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching sports, and attending and supporting his grandchildren’s activities.
On May 15, 1953, Jim married the former June L. Woodworth; she passed away October 31, 2019.
He is survived by two daughters, Deborah (Rod) Stevens of Pittsburgh and Lori (Doug) Anderson of Mercer; a son, Gregory (Pam) Brown of Jamestown; seven grandsons: Kevin Brown, Cory Brown, Collin Brown, Zach Weaver, Matt Stevens, Evan Anderson, and Drew Anderson; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Jim was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; and two brothers.
Services:
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Sunday, 8/9/26, from 1:00 – 4:00 PM in the Jamestown Fireman’s Club, 501 Denver St. Jamestown. A private inurnment with Military Honors rendered by Jamestown Honor Guard will be held in Park Lawn Cemetery, Jamestown. Memorial Contributions may be made to Jamestown VFW Post #5424, 205 Liberty St. Jamestown, PA 16134.
