Mary Jane Brown Ruble Weathers, age 89, formerly of Greenville, passed away Tuesday morning, April 28, 2026.
She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on September 28, 1936 to Frank and Luella (Felt) Kendrick. A few weeks old, she was adopted and lovingly raised by James C. and Bernice Brown of Greenville PA.
In 1954, she graduated from the former Penn High School and attended Penn State University.
A stay-at-home mom, she raised her family with pride and love. When her youngest son started school, Mary Jane became a successful real estate sales associate with the former Weldon West Real Estate firm in Butler, PA. Taking more classes, she earned her broker's license.
In 1982, she moved to Raleigh, NC and worked as systems secretary for the former Simplex Time Recorder Co. Several years later she became a customer service representative with Oxford University Press in Cary, NC retiring in 1999. In 2007, she returned to Greenville.
She is survived by four sons: William D. Ruble, Jr. (Sandy) of South Boston, VA, Robert D. Ruble (Louisa) of Pittsburgh, Kenneth C. Ruble (Kimberly) of Pittsburgh, and Michael J. Ruble (Michele) of Apex, NC, and step-daughter, Jeanette Weathers of Raleigh, NC; seven Ruble grandchildren: James, April, Jacob, Lukas, Maranda, Erik and Laura; two great-grandchildren, Greyson and Emma; four nieces and a nephew: Byron Kendrick, Jr. (Sandy), Diane Kendrick, Janet Adamczyk (Mike), all of Franklin and Susan Frederick (Niel) of Reading, PA and Linda Privette (Rick) of Cedar Key, FL; cousins Dr. Robert Biggin, Bruce Biggin, and Anthony Crossland; and several great-nieces and a great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by both sets of parents; beloved son James C. Ruble; former husbands William D. Ruble and Wade L. Weathers; her brothers Byron Kendrick and wife Ann, Frank Kendrick and wife Mary Ann; and cousin Charles “Mike” Crossland.
Services:
A Private Family Graveside Service will be held with Rev. Joel Benson officiating. Burial will be next to her son James C. Ruble in Butler Memorial Park, Butler PA. Memorial contributions may be made to Strayhaven Animal Shelter, 94 Donation Rd. Greenville, PA 16125 or an animal charity of your choice.
