Mary Susan “Sue” Simons, age 90, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday morning, April 21, 2026, in St. Paul’s Senior Living Community.
She was born in Greenville on May 10, 1935 to John and Mary (Thompson) Frampton. Sue graduated from Penn High School in 1953. She attended Miami University of Ohio and completed her B. A. in Education at Thiel College and her M. Ed. at Westminster College. Sue retired as a medical secretary from Greenville Medical Center and previously had been employed as a teacher at Transfer Elementary School.
She was a member of Lakeside Evangelical Congregational Church, Transfer where she assisted with the children’s ministry. Sue also attended The Oak Grove Church, Mercer and participated in several mission trips with her husband. She volunteered at The Good Shepherd Center and Fresh Grounds Coffeehouse. In her spare time, Sue enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
On November 28, 1986, she Married Isaac Norman “Norm” Simons; he survives.
In addition to her husband, Sue is survived by a daughter, Jennifer (Mark) Montgomery of Pittsburgh; two stepchildren, Kristan Fowler of Lakeland, FL and Mark (Darla) Simons of Greenville; a son-in-law, Bill Skalski of Ellwood City; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Lisa Skalski; her sister, Ann Lytle; and her son-in-law, James Fowler.
Services:
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, 4/25/26, in Lakeside Evangelical Congregational Church, 3203 N. Hermitage Rd. Transfer with Rev. Bill Rudge officiating. Family and friends will be received in the Church on 4/25/26 from 10:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be in State Line Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to The Good Shepherd Center, P. O. Box 422 Greenville, PA 16125 or Bill Rudge Ministries, 280 N. Buhl Farm Dr., Hermitage, PA 16148.
