Mary K. Button, age 72, of Linesville, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, May 10, 2026, after a brave battle with dementia.
She was born in Grove City on May 16, 1953 to Boleslaw and Elizabeth (Maddalena) Krauza. Mary graduated from Linesville High School and completed her B. A. in Psychology at Thiel College and master’s degrees in Education and Psychology at Edinboro University. She also earned an advanced certificate in psychology. Mary retired from Northwest Tri-County Intermediate Unit V, Edinboro in 2012 following 35 years of employment as a school psychologist.
She was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church Linesville. Mary enjoyed traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
On August 19, 1978, she married Charles W. Button; he survives.
In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by a daughter, Anna (Mike) Biller of Grafton, MA; a son, Stephen Button of Nashville, TN; three brothers: Tony (Kathy) Krauza of Conneaut Lake, William (Jill) Krauza of Murrysville, and James (Judy) Krauza of Beaver Falls; and two grandchildren, Cameron Biller and Elizabeth Biller.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services:
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, 6/6/26, in St. Philip Catholic Church, 401 S. Mercer St. Linesville, with Fr. Chris Hamlett, Pastor of the Church, as Celebrant. Family and friends will be received on Friday, 6/5/26, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville. Inurnment will be in St. Philip Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2835 E. Carson St., Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15203 or the Wesbury Foundation, 31 Park Avenue, Meadville, PA 16335.
