Marjorie Joan McElhinny of 339 E. Jamestown Road, Greenville, PA passed away in UPMC Greenville Horizon Hospital Tuesday, June 17, 2025 following a brief illness. Marjorie was born March 9, 1933 to James William and Stella Adams Malson in Greenville, PA. She graduated from the former Penn High School in 1951 and did office work for a short time.
On February 9, 1952 Marjorie married Francis S. McElhinny. Together they raised their family of five children in the Greenville area. They later relocated to Girard, Ohio for employment reasons. Marjorie was a busy homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed camping, hunting, gardening, and most of all her family. She was a longtime member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville and attended St. Rose Catholic Church, Girard while residing in Ohio.
She will be missed by her children, Mary Lue (William) Doyle, Dennis McElhinny and his companion (Karen), Rose A. Medice, Patricia J. (Jeffrey) Fuehrer; grandchildren, William Daniel (Jennifer) Doyle, Melanie L (Brady) Ansell, Wendy McElhinny, Katie (Shaun) Cox, Matthew (Sara) McElhinny, Jason (Jennifer) Fuehrer, Zachary (Sarah) Fuehrer, Adam Fuehrer, and Jessica (Anthony) Wallender; great-grandchildren, Jensen, Colton and Haven Ansell, Ben, Rian and Anna Roxanne McElhinny, Nicholas, Mason and Ethan Dietrich, Kaylee, Kaiya, Karinna and Karalyn Fuehrer, Nova and Alora Fuehrer, and Ava, Bryce, and Greyson Wallender. Marjorie will also be remembered by sisters, Lucille (James) Cribly, Gloria (Joseph) Studebaker and Alice (Robert) Roncaglione; sister-in-law, Blanche (Charles) Hawks and brother-in-law, Vincent McElhinny.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, son – Thomas F. McElhinny, daughter-in-law Roxanne (Dennis) McElhinny, half-brother James Reagle, half-sister Lois Mowry, adopted half-brother Everett Mowry, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Services:
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, 6/20/25, in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 85 N. High St. Greenville, with Fr. Brandon Kleckner, Pastor of the Church, as Celebrant. Family and friends will be received from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, 6/19/25, and from 9:00-10:00 AM on Friday, 6/20/25, in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville. Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Senior Living Community, 339 E. Jamestown Rd., Greenville, PA 16125.
