Marilyn Jane (Hogue) Johnson

Marilyn Jane (Hogue) Johnson, age 88, of Greenville, Pennsylvania, passed away on February 4, 2026, in St. Paul’s Senior Living Community.

She was born on August 10, 1937, in Sharon, Pennsylvania to Paul and Iva Hogue. She was raised in Wheatland and graduated from Sharon High School. Marilyn worked at the Greenville Medical Center clinic for many years.

She was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenville. Marilyn enjoyed travel, the beach, lunching with her high school “gals pals,” her family, and most of all those who called her “Gigi.”

On June 15, 1956, she married Ronald Lee Johnson, who preceded her in death on March 1, 1989.

Marilyn is survived by her children Terri (Doug) Meekins, Baltimore, MD; Jill (Bob) Murrin, Greenville, PA; and Douglas (Maria) Johnson, Bradenton, FL. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Bill Kosar; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Shirley and Bob Henderson; and her parents.

Services:

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, 7/3/26, in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenville, PA with Rev. Brenda Martin, Pastor of the Church, officiating. Family and friends will be received on 7/3/26 from 9:45 – 10:45 AM in the Roth Library of the Church. Inurnment will be in Shenango Valley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be directed to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1 Trinity Pl. Greenville, PA 16125 or St. Paul’s Senior Living Community, 339 E. Jamestown Rd. Greenville, PA 16125.
