Lois A. Mealy, age 90, of Jamestown, passed away Sunday evening, December 7, 2025, in St. Paul’s Senior Living Community,
She was born in Pittsburgh on July 6, 1935 to Charles and Ada Hereford. Lois retired from Greenville Wal-Mart in 2015 as a deli attendant following 15 years of employment and had previously been employed as a cashier and deli attendant at the former Shawkey’s Golden Dawn, Jamestown and the former A & P Grocery Store, Greenville. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Lois was a member of the Star Promenadors Square Dance Club and enjoyed traveling with her husband in their camper trailer and square dancing across many states. She was a talented seamstress, creating and designing outfits for her daughters to show horses and square dance outfits for herself and her husband.
On September 20, 1951, Lois married Warren L. Mealy; he passed away December 7, 2020.
She is survived by two daughters, Connie (Pete) Brubaker of Michigan and Mellany Mealy of Fayetteville, NC; two sons, Jeff (Jodi) Mealy and Gerald (Michelle) Mealy, both of Jamestown; six grandchildren: Danny (Jennifer) Mealy, Cassandra (Josh) Hubbard, Janelle (Ben) Alier, Lindsey (Matthew) Amick, Kristen (Timothy) Farr, and Brandon (Amanda) Mealy; and 18 great-grandchildren: Marcus, Jaden, Emma, Wyatt, Piper, Isaac, Hope, Chase, Grayson, Jillian, Colette, Alden, Avery, Quinn, Elliott, Drew, Laurel, and Juno.
In addition to her husband, Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Hereford and Ada Hereford-Mealy; two sisters, Phyllis Reggiero and Luella Lampropolis; and two brothers, Charles Hereford and Robert Hereford.
