Kathryn M. “Kaye” Spence, age 79, of E. Lake Rd., S. Shenango Twp., Jamestown, passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening, February 14, 2026, in the ER of UPMC Horizon, Greenville.
She was born in Oil City on July 6, 1946 to Joseph and Patricia (Deemer) Martin. Kaye graduated from Oil City High School. She retired as a Laborer from Andover Industries and previously had been employed as a school bus driver in the local area.
Kaye was a member of Jamestown Firemen’s Club, Jamestown VFW Post # 5424, Greenville VFW Post #3374 Auxiliary, and was active with the Greenville Senior Center and Mercer County Women’s Association. She enjoyed socializing with friends and family and loved the outdoors, especially spotting deer and fishing. Kaye also enjoyed traveling with her friends and spending time with her great-granddaughter.
On June 30, 1973, she married William R. Spence; he passed away December 15, 2009.
Kaye is survived by a daughter, Marcia J. (Steven) White of Jamestown; two grandchildren, Calista and Ashton White; and a great-granddaughter.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a sister; and two brothers.
Services:
Per Kaye’s wishes, Cremation was chosen, and no services will be held. Memorial Contributions may be made to Tamarack Wildlife Rehab Center, 21601 Stull Rd, Saegertown, PA 16433; Greenville Senior Center c/o Mercer County Area Agency on Aging, 133 N. Pitt St., Mercer, PA 16137.
