John R. “Jack” Ramsey

John R. “Jack” Ramsey, age 76, of Hempfield Ave., Hempfield Twp., Greenville passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, September 7, 2026, in his residence.

He was born in Greenville on April 20, 1950 to Richard C. and Betty J. (Billig) Ramsey. Jack was a 1968 graduate of Greenville High School and served two years in the U. S. Army Reserves. He was employed for 37 years as a heavy equipment operator with National Fuel Co.

Jack was a member of B. P. O. E. #145 and the Jamestown Fireman’s Club. He was a “jack of all trades” and enjoyed rebuilding classic cars, spending time in his garage, feeding the birds and his cats, and he truly loved his time with his grandchildren.

On October 22, 1976, he married the former Cathy J. Brown: she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Angie (Tim) Ramsey of Berlin Center, OH and Ashley (Nick) Magliocca of Enon Valley, PA; a sister, Pam Greenfield of Greenville; and five grandchildren: Luke Ramsey, Kylee Ramsey, Carter Ramsey, Reese Magliocca, and Zack Magliocca.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Dick Greenfield.

Family and friends will be received from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Saturday, 9/12/26, in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Strayhaven Animal Shelter, 94 Donation Rd. Greenville, PA 16125 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
