John J. Dalzell

February 2, 1951 — April 30, 2026

Greenville, PA

John J. Dalzell, age 75, of Greenville PA entered into peace on April 30, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.

John was born in Grafton, North Dakota in 1951 to the late Vernon and Marie (Bailly) Dalzell. He graduated from Walhalla High school in 1969 and attended ND State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND and then pursued work in the construction engineering field.

In June of 1976, he married Jeanine (Meyer) Dalzell in Wright, WY, the first married couple in this small coal mining town. John and Jeanine made many moves to fulfill his work assignments, living in nine states during their 50-year marriage, including over 30 years in Washington state. They were blessed with a son Joel Dalzell and daughter Jessica (Dalzell) Huntsberger and so many friends and extended family around the country.

Not only dedicated to his career, John was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved spending time outdoors with his family, taking them camping and skiing in the mountains or on adventurous road trips across the country. He was also an active church elder and board member and was committed to helping others.

John and his wife recently relocated to Pennsylvania due to health issues and a desire to be nearer family. John will be missed but his memories and lives he touched will be remembered in our hearts.

He is survived by his loving and caregiving wife, Jeanine Dalzell, their devoted children and grandchildren Joel (Kathryn), Arthur and Eleanor Dalzell of Colorado; Jessica (Jason), Jairus, Atarah, and Malachi Huntsberger of Greenville; and his siblings Cathy Pogorzelski, Marilyn (Gary) Smith, Bob (Bets) Dalzell and Jeff (Barb) Dalzell, and sister-in-law Marge Dalzell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant brother Boyd Dalzell, his beloved brother Cliff Dalzell, and brother-in-law Alex Pogorzelski.
