Janice Leotta Anderson, age 84, of Sharpsville passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

Jan was born in New Kensington, PA on November 24, 1940, a daughter of John and Jennie (Wilson) Anchors. She was a graduate of Arnold High School and Indiana University of PA and was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She previously attended Christ Lutheran Church and Grace Chapel.

Jan was an elementary music teacher in Hermitage School District for over 25 years. She and her husband Andy enjoyed traveling and camping throughout the U. S. and Canada with their children and grandchildren. When their second grandchild, Allyn, was born in Germany, Jan traveled there to care for the other grandchild, Aaron. Other travels included trips to Korea, Hawaii, Alaska, and round trip across the U. S. Jan, her daughter, Kerry, and granddaughter, Allie, traveled with her sister, Bonnie, and her three daughters on a tour of Ireland. Always, her favorite scenery was found in the mountains of Potter County, PA.

In retirement Jan was blessed with a lovely group of women quilters who taught her to enjoy this pastime. Jan raised red raspberries from which she made preserves that were enjoyed by neighbors, friends, and family. Another favorite activity was Bible Study, which was in her home. Jan loved the Lord and found great comfort in spending time with Him.

Jan was the widow of Robert “Andy” Anderson whom she married August 7, 1965. Andy passed away March 6, 2012.

Jan and Andy were proud of their children and grandchildren and cherished time with them. They are survived by a daughter, Kerry Overfield of Greenville; two sons, Carl Anderson of Sharpsville, and Kevin (Wendy) Anderson of Milford, MI; a sister, Bonnie (Robert) Emerick of Colonial Heights, VA; five grandchildren: Aaron Overfield, Allie (Warren) Fischer, Aiden Overfield Anderson, Parker Anderson, and Paige Anderson; and two great-grandchildren, Easton Overfield and Henry Fischer.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jan was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack and Robert Anchors.
