Janet (Wright) Bloomfield, age 96, of Conneaut Lake Rd., Sugar Grove Twp., Greenville passed away Sunday afternoon, November 23, 2025, in St. Paul’s Senior Living Community.
She was born in Brooklyn, NY to E. M. S. and Mabel (Sinclair) Wright. Janet was a graduate of the Mac Duffie School for Girls, Springfield, MA and received her B. A. in Chemistry from Wilson College. She became a medical technologist and an instructor of medical technology with the Springfield Hospital. After her marriage to Dr. James Bloomfield, a professor at Thiel College, she relocated to Greenville where she worked for many years in the medical laboratory of Greenville Regional Hospital.
Janet was a member of First United Methodist Church, Greenville where she was an active member of the church choir. She was also a member of the Thiel Fortnightly Club and the Women’s Coterie Club. Janet enjoyed traveling (much of the USA, Greece, Pre-Communist Cuba, South Africa, Norway, Scotland, the Galapagos Islands, Costa Rica, and most of continental Europe). Additionally, she enjoyed swimming, skiing, gardening, and golfing.
In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Lane of Darien, CT; three granddaughters; two nieces; and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an older brother, Ned Wright.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville, with Rev. Earl Butterfield, Pastor of First United Methodist Church, Greenville, officiating. Memorial Contributions may be made to Wilson College 1015 Philadelphia Ave. Chambersburg, PA 17201.
