James Earl McCollam, Jr., 90, of Jamestown, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026. Born on July 19, 1935, James lived a full and meaningful life marked by hard work and an unwavering devotion to the people he loved.
James spent over 40 years as an Electrical Sales Engineer at General Electric, earning respect for his integrity, sharp mind, and work ethic. He built lasting relationships and took great pride in his work.
He believed strongly in education, earning an Associate’s degree in Accounting from Robert Morris University and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Penn State University—accomplishments that reflected his dedication and determination.
At the center of James’s life was his beloved wife, Lee. Together they shared 74 years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Their bond was his greatest accomplishment.
James found joy in the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting in Cameron County. At home, he loved working puzzles, reading, and a well-earned glass of scotch. He was also deeply devoted to his beloved German Shepherd, Heidi, who brought him constant companionship and comfort.
He is survived by his wife, Lee; his children Donna Fogle (Steve), Diana Morian (Mike), Mary Blattner (Paul), Jimmy McCollam (Patty), Terri Figurelli (Marc), Linda Guiliani (Brad), and Cindy Peterman (Mark). He was preceded in death by his son, Michael. James was a proud grandfather to 20 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren (All a source of immense pride).
James will be remembered for his steady presence, kind heart, generosity, and the deep love he had for his family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on in the family he cherished so dearly.
