James A. Carlson of Kinsman Rd., W. Salem Twp., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on March 27, 2021.

He was born in Greenville to Elmer and Violet Carlson. Jim was a graduate of Penn High School and served as a Sergeant in the U. S. Army from 1960-1962. He was employed for six years at the former Chicago Bridge and Iron Co. before becoming the owner/operator of Carlson's Auto Repair and Towing in Greenville for thirty-seven years. Jim was active for many years at the American Legion Post #140 and had served as Post Commander, Deputy Commander Post #140 of the 28 th District and was the founding member of the Post's Honor Guard. In addition, Jim was a past West Salem Twp. Supervisor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, the outdoors, building things for the grand kids and spending time with all his family.

Jim is survived by his wife of 61 years Sandra, his daughter Christina, two sons; Wesley and Tim and their wives, a brother David, two granddaughters; a grandson, a great grandson and a great granddaughter and five step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, a sister, his mother-in-law and his son-in-law.

All services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post #140, 278 Main St., Greenville, PA 16125. Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville.
