Gwen M. DeTullio, age 68, of 193 Clarksville St., Greenville, PA went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 23, 2022, in the comfort of her daughter’s home surrounded by family.
She was born in Greenville, PA on June 5, 1954 a daughter of Richard and Genevra (Dart) McGuffie. She was a 1972 graduate of Greenville High School. She always liked to point out that she turned 18, graduated from high school, got married, and moved to California all in the same week. On June 10, 1972 she married Dennis J. DeTullio.
Gwen was a 1985 graduate of Thiel College where she graduated with honors from the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. She served her community during her career as a Registered Nurse working for UPMC Horizon. In her spare time Gwen enjoyed doing macrame, sewing, quilting, gardening, canning, playing the flute, and reading. Gwen had an adventurous side and she checked skydiving and hot air balloon ride off her bucket list. In her later years she was quite content watching all of her favorite old tv shows and she loved going to visit her siblings in Arizona. She also volunteered at the Greenville Literacy Center and ran the local chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis support group for many years.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis DeTullio; a daughter, Heather Zarella and her husband Tony of Hermitage; two grandchildren, Connor Lengyel and Ryan Lengyel; and her five siblings, Richard (Tracie) McGuffie, Bonnie (Tami) McGuffie, Dawn Kennedy, Tim (Holly) McGuffie, and Paul McGuffie all of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two grandchildren, Colton Lengyel and Sadie Lengyel.
