Frances Juanita “Nita” Murrin, age 77, of Kinsman Rd., W. Salem Twp., Greenville passed away Sunday afternoon, July 27, 2025, in UPMC Hamot.
She was born in Columbia, SC on July 15, 1948 to Colin and Leila (Berry) Price and was a graduate of Lower Richmond High School. Nita was a homemaker and along with her husband owned and operated the former Hometown Video in Greenville.
She was a member of Crossroads Christian Fellowship where she had taught Bible School, Sunday School, and assisted in the Nursery. Nita had a strong passion for helping others and had served as a foster parent and PTO member and had been active as a Girl Scout leader with the Brownies and Pioneer Girls. Her other interests included bowling, camping, reading, and most of all, spending time with her family and friends.
On March 19, 1967, Nita married Raymond Arthur Murrin; he survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter Kimberly (Miles) Smith of Transfer; two grandsons, Jacob (Erica) Smith of Greenville and Micah (Brittany) Smith of Sharpsville; and two great-grandchildren, Eliyannah Smith and Nolan Smith.
Nita was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Wanda and Gayle; and four brothers: Pete, Wayne, Wilburn, and Ronnie.
Services:
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, 8/1/25, in Crossroads Christian Fellowship, 805 Vernon Rd. Greenville, with Rev. Todd Jaussen, Pastor of the Church, officiating. Family and friends will be received from 4:00-7:00 PM on Thursday, 7/31/25, in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville and on Friday, 8/1/25, in the Church from 10:00 AM until time of service. Burial will be in Rock Ridge Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Crossroads Christian Fellowship 805 Vernon Rd., Greenville, PA 16125.
