Evelyn C. Amon, age 87, of Otter Creek Twp., Greenville passed away Monday afternoon, July 28, 2025.
She was born in Hadley on October 24, 1937 to John E. and Alice E. (Anthony) Shollenberger and was a graduate of Commodore Perry High School.
A lifelong homemaker, Evelyn enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family. She had previously been active with the Radio Emergency Association Communications Team (REACT).
On March 14, 1958, Evelyn married John A. Amon, Sr.; he passed away on January 15, 2005.
She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Heffern of Hadley and Crystal (Brian) Cunningham of Fredonia; a son, John A. Amon, Jr. and his fiancé Tawnya Campbell of Greenville; 12 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Alice Amon and Kathy Byler; two infant sisters; two infant brothers; two brothers, John Walter Shollenberger and Albert Shollenberger; an infant grandson, Jeffrey Allen King; a grandson, Cody Allen King; a son-in-law, Robert Heffern; and a daughter-in-law, Sheri Amon.
Services:
A Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 PM Monday, 8/4/25, in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville. Family and friends will be received on 8/4/25 in the Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until time of service. Burial will be in Hadley Cemetery.
