Ethel Ruth Lapadat, age 100, of N. Maysville Rd., W. Salem Twp., Greenville, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 24, 2026, in her residence.
She was born in Burghill, OH on November 13, 1925 to Harry E. and Ruth (Harnevious) Davis. Ethel was a 1943 graduate of Penn High School. She retired from Ames Department Store, Greenville in 1990 following 16 years of employment and previously had been employed at Stegkamper Motors and Westinghouse Electric Corp.
Ethel was a member of Crossroads Christian Fellowship where she sang in the choir and attended Senior Saints and the Wednesday morning ladies group. She was a committee member for Cub Scout Pack #99 and a member of the West Salem VFD Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed crochet, cross-stitch, taking care of her lawn, and crossword and jigsaw puzzles.
On January 17, 1948, she married Eli Lapadat; he passed away November 1, 1963.
Ethel is survived by three sons: Nick (Peggy) Lapadat of South Bend, IN, Richard (Dixie) Lapadat of McKean, PA, and David Lapadat and his companion, Candy Shaffer, of Greenville; two daughters, Ruth (Brian) Yudt and Carol Means, both of Greenville; a daughter-in-law, Arlene Lapadat of Fontana, CA; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Kenneth Lapadat; two brothers, Harry Davis and Joseph Davis; and two sisters, Jean Riddle and Sarah Frank.
Services:
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, 3/3/26, in Crossroads Christian Fellowship, 805 Vernon Rd. Greenville, PA 16125. Family and friends will be received in the church on 3/3/26 from 10:00 AM until time of Service. Burial will be in Shenango Valley Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Crossroads Christian Fellowship.
