Eleanor Louise Williams, age 99, of Hempfield Twp., Greenville, passed away Sunday evening, June 7, 2026, in her residence.
She was born in Franklin on April 16, 1927 to Norman H. and Geraldine (McKee) Herr. Louise graduated from Penn High School in 1944 and from Thiel College in 1948. She was employed as a teacher in a one-room schoolhouse in Kane, PA and then taught at the former Washington School in Greenville where she met her husband. Louise also studied piano from the age of five years old and went on to play for various groups and clubs throughout her life.
Louise was a member of First United Methodist Church, Greenville where she served as organist and pianist for 50 years between 1963 and 2013, playing for regular church services, weddings, funerals, Bible School, and for rehearsals for the Greenville community performance of The Messiah. She also served as pianist for the Shenango Valley Retired Men’s Glee Club. In addition to her love of music, Louise also enjoyed sewing, knitting, camping, square dancing, gardening, and playing bridge.
On August 8, 1953, she married J. Glenn Williams; he passed away March 11, 2000.
Louise is survived by a daughter, Amy L. Kringeta of Warren, OH; a son, David G. Williams of Clermont, FL; three grandchildren: Benjamin Kringeta of Youngstown, OH, and Katie Kringeta and Michael Kringeta, both of Warren, OH.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Services:
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, 6/11/26, in the Chapel of Shenango Valley Cemetery, 53 College Ave., Greenville, PA, with Rev. Earl Butterfield, Pastor of First United Methodist Church, Greenville, officiating. Burial will be in Shenango Valley Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 73 Clinton St. Greenville, PA 16125.
