Dorothy Shirley Pauls Schmid, formerly of Jamestown, passed away on January 31, 2026. A woman of deep faith, Dorothy loved Jesus with all her heart and was guided by Him faithfully to the very end of her life.
Dorothy married the love of her life, James E. Schmid, on September 30, 1961. Together they shared 57 years of marriage, building a family rooted in love, perseverance, and devotion.
She is survived by her son, Bradley William Schmid, and his wife, Kristen; their children Ben (wife Lilian) and Alexa (fiancé Ryan). She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Kelly, and her children Michaela (husband Cordell, and their baby Callan), Anna (fiancé Collin), and Chris. Dorothy is further survived by her brother Dick and his wife Cathy, and her sister-in-law Pat Pauls.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband James Schmid; her son Kevin; three infant children; her brother Joe; and her sister Rosemarie.
Dorothy found great joy in gardening and had a special love for animals. She was proud to serve as past president of the Westford Flower Club, and she worked for many years as a hairdresser in Mars, Pennsylvania, and Jamestown, touching countless lives through both her work and her kindness.
Dorothy will be remembered for her unwavering faith, strong spirit, and the love she poured into her family and community. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy lives on in all who were blessed to know her
Services:
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, 2/4/26, in Greenville Alliance Church, 63 Conneaut Lake Rd. Greenville, PA, with Rev. Byron Dickey, Pastor of the Church, officiating. Family and friends will be received in the Church on 2/4/26 from 10:00 AM until time of Service. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Wexford, PA.
