With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Donal George McFarlane, who died peacefully on July 1, 2025, at the age of 60.
Donny was born on November 18, 1964, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He grew up in McCandless Township, where he shared a childhood full of memories with his siblings. A proud graduate of North Allegheny High School, Donny later made his home in Jamestown, PA, where he built a life rooted in hard work and friendship.
Donny worked along side his brother Danny who founded Jamestown Tree Service, a business that reflected their strong work ethic and love for the outdoors. In later years, Donny became an employee at Pymatuning Boat Sales, where he earned the nickname “Mr. Fix It” for his talent with tools and machines. Whether it was a boat, a motor, or a stubborn piece of equipment, Donny could find a way to make it work.
Donny loved the simple joys of life—camping under the stars, fishing in quiet waters, and spending time with those he loved. He was a man who preferred action over words, always ready to lend a helping hand, share a laugh, or fix what was broken.
He is survived by his loving siblings: his older brother David James McFarlane (Chris) and his older sister Tracey Ann McFarlane Creese (Wes), as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, & his best friend Ryan Tate who will carry his memory forward.
Donny was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Lois McFarlane, his siblings Beth Ann and Daniel Scott.
Donny’s legacy is one of quiet strength, loyalty, and love for the outdoors. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
