Debra A. Rodemoyer

September 17, 1955 — July 4, 2025

Greenville, PA

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our cherished loved one, Debra A. Rodemoyer. She was called home by her Lord and Savior, while surrounded by her family, on Friday, July 4, 2025 at the age of 69. She showed her truly tenacious and courageous spirit throughout her nearly 2-year journey with leukemia.

Debbie was born on September 17, 1955 in Greenville, PA to the late James Paul and Rose Mary (Boylan) Riley.

Debbie lived a life that exemplified Christ, which was evident through her loyalty, care, compassion, faithfulness, determination, and, above all, love. She was one of the most selfless individuals one could meet. Even until the end, she continually put the wants and needs of others above her own, especially when involving her children and grandchildren. Debbie had a remarkable talent for baking, crocheting and knitting, tending to flowers, caring for her family, and making her house a home. She loved spending as much time as possible interacting with and watching any events her children and grandchildren participated in. She found true joy in her grandchildren, as they would cause her to light up with a smile even through her final days.

Debbie graduated from Commodore Perry High School in 1973, where she demonstrated her love of learning and always strived for excellence. During high school, she met her future husband, Dennis Rodemoyer. They married on September 28, 1974 and went on to celebrate over 50 years of marriage.

Using her passion for numbers and problem-solving, Debbie worked for several years as a bookkeeper. She went on to serve as the Delaware Township Tax Collector. She retired in December 2024 after 35 years of service. In addition, Debbie previously worked for the Reynolds School District as wage tax collector. With her expertise and insight, she served as President of the Mercer County Tax Collectors’ Association for two decades.

Debbie played an active role in her community through volunteering in numerous school organizations. She was a longtime, active member of Christ Community Church, in which she served on the church board, led Bible Studies, and taught Sunday School. She continued to foster her relationship with Christ while attending Sandy Lake Wesleyan Church for the past several years.

Debra is survived by her husband, Denny, and their four children: Tracey (Sean) Sharp of Greenville, Elaine (Patrick) Aretz of Greenville, Jason (Chelsea) Rodemoyer of Canonsburg, and Mathew (Scarlett) Rodemoyer of Greenville; seven grandchildren: Avery, Nolan, Reagan, and Kellen Aretz, Connor Sharp, and Vivian and Everett Rodemoyer; sisters: Joyce (Butch) King of Hadley, Susan (Randy) Davis of Titusville, and Kathleen (Paul) Aranyos of Greenville; sister-in-law: Linda (George) Moore of Fairborn, Ohio; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Ethel Rodemoyer.

As Debra has entered into her eternal heavenly home, it is with certainty her profound legacy will live on in her children and grandchildren.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Shadyside Hospital and especially Hillman Cancer Center. The exceptional medical staff not only provided top-notch treatment, but also offered extraordinary love, support, and care. Among the countless nurses and staff who touched her life, we would particularly like to thank Dr. Franz and Emily, Anna, Julie, Linda, and Carol for always going above and beyond on a weekly basis.
