David D. McConnell

David D. McConnell, age 82, of N. Hermitage Rd., Pymatuning Twp., Transfer, PA passed away Tuesday evening, May 20, 2025, in his residence.

He was born in Six Points, Butler County on September 15, 1942 to J. Frank and Bernice (McCamey) McConnell. Dave was a 1961 graduate of Reynolds High School and served as a Military Police officer in the U. S. Army from 1962-1964 during the Vietnam War. He had retired as a truck driver for Trinity Transportation, Dallas, TX following 11 years of employment and previously had been employed as a truck driver for R. D. Werner Co. for 27 years.

Dave was of the Protestant Faith. He was a member of Greenville VFW Post #3374, a life member of the National Rifle Association, and he enjoyed fishing.

On October 26, 2003, he married Ruthann (Knauff) Rider; she passed away January 31, 2011.

Dave is survived by a stepdaughter, Debbie Abbott of Sheakleyville; a stepson, John (Yvonne) Pressler of W. Middlesex, PA; a sister, Phyllis (James) Shacklock of Greenville; step-grandchildren; a nephew, and three nieces.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Fred McConnell and Carl McConnell; and a sister, Dorothy Zahniser.

Services:

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, 5/28/25, in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 336-338 S. Main St. Greenville. Greenville VFW Post #3374 Honor Guard will render military honors at the conclusion of the service. Family and friends will be received in the funeral home on Wednesday, 5/28/25, from 1:00 PM until time of service. Burial will be in Rocky Glen Cemetery, Adamsville.
