Cosmo Pomponio, age 93, of Columbia Ave., Greenville, passed away Wednesday morning, December 24, 2025.
He was born in Greenville on May 3, 1932 to Anthony and Maria (Calabria) Pomponio. Cosmo attended Penn High School and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Germany as a tank driver. He retired from the Shipping and Receiving Department of R. D. Werner Co. following 43 years of employment.
Cosmo was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville. He enjoyed sports, traveling, and his pets.
He is survived by five nieces: Mary Reames, Barb LeGard, Kathy Urmson, Susan Gollette, and Lisa Glass; three nephews: Bruce Pomponio, Michael D’Annunzio, and Scott D’Annunzio; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Cosmo was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters: Pauline Mazzoni, Teresa Pomponio, Josephine Pomponio, and Edith D’ Annunzio; two brothers: John Pomponio and Joseph Pomponio; and three nephews: Jack Pomponio, Mark Pomponio, and Robert D’Annunzio.
Services:
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a date and time to be announced. Inurnment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Strayhaven Animal Shelter, 94 Donation Rd. Greenville, PA 16125.
