Claude M. Vail

Claude M. Vail, age 95, of Jamestown and formerly of Kansas, passed away Sunday afternoon, September 14, 2025, in UPMC Jameson.

He was born in Norborne, MO on July 9, 1930 to Frank and Grace (Arbuckle) Vail. Claude served in the U. S. Marine Corps. and the U. S. Navy. He retired as a Kansas State Trooper following 25 years of service. Claude was a faithful Christian and an avid Bible reader. He also enjoyed woodworking, raising honeybees, and riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Claude is survived by two daughters, Hadara (Eric) Steadman of Jamestown and Tricia (Tom) McClure of Chandler, AZ; two sons, Kevin (Amber) Vail of Chanute, KS and Mark Vail of Towanda, KS; 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronald Vail; and 11 siblings.

Services:

Cremation was chosen, and no services will be held.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Loutzenhiser-Randall Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 416 Liberty St. Jamestown.
