Clara M. Liszka

Clara M. Liszka, age 94, of Greenville, passed away Monday evening, March 2, 2026, in St. Paul’s Senior Living Community.

She was born in Portland Mills, PA on April 7, 1931 to Kenneth H. and Genevieve (Cleaver) Nevin. Clara was a 1949 graduate of Jamestown High School. She was a homemaker and also was employed as a laborer at Reznor in Mercer for 15 years.

Clara was a past member of Living Word Christian Center where she had volunteered at Living Word School and also was a past volunteer at The Good Shepherd Center. She and her late husband were foster parents to 21 children, and Clara babysat children in her home for many years. She enjoyed quilting and won Best of Show at the Jamestown Fair in 2024. Clara also enjoyed antiques and researching her family ancestry.

On June 18, 1949, she married Leo T. Liszka; he passed away April 23, 2020.

Clara is survived by four daughters: Theresa Schuver of Greenville, Marjorie (Dave) Manko of Clairmont, NC, Julie (Dave) Ryhal of Greenville, and Cynthia Pennington of Greenville; two sons, Michael Liszka and Patrick (Brenda) Liszka, both of Greenville; a sister, Glenda Java of Pittsburgh; 13 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Clara was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Steven Liszka; three brothers, Elmer Nevin, Terry Nevin, and Joseph Nevin; and two sons-in-law, Mark Schuver and David Pennington.

Services:

A Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 PM on Monday, 3/9/26, in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville, with Robin McLaughlin, Clara’s niece, officiating. Family and friends will be received in the Funeral Home on 3/9/26 from 3:30 PM until time of Service. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery.
