Carla J. Bonaquist

Carla J. Bonaquist, age 74, of Wilbur St., Greenville, passed away Monday afternoon, June 1, 2026.

She was born in Greenville on February 22, 1952 to Carl F. “Pete” and Phyllis J. (Kamerer) Haynes. Carla was a 1970 graduate of Grove City High School and also attended Slippery Rock University. She retired from the Social Security Mines at Iron Mountain following seven years as a clerk and previously had been employed as a receptionist at R. D. Werner Co. for 17 years.

Carla was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Greenville. She enjoyed reading, especially her Devotional Bible, trips to the beach, taking cruises with her late husband, shopping with her daughter and sister-in-law, Sarah, holiday gatherings with her family, and swimming at Chestnut Run with her late son. Carla also loved music and her cats.

On October 26, 1974, she married Joseph V. Bonaquist; he passed away March 9, 2024.

Carla is survived by a daughter, Dawn M. Bonaquist of Greenville; her mother, Phyllis Haynes of Greenville; her brother, Jeffrey (Jill) Haynes of Myrtle Beach, SC; her sister-in-law, Sarah Bonaquist of Greenville; and her loving nieces and nephews of South Carolina.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father and her son, Joseph C. Bonaquist.

Services:

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, 6/23/26 in St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 85 N. High St. Greenville, with Fr. Thomas N. Trocchio, Pastor of the Church, as Celebrant. Inurnment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Strayhaven Animal Shelter, 94 Donation Rd. Greenville, PA 16125.
