Albert E. Meeker, III, age 84, of Greenville passed away Friday morning, August 22, 2025, in St. Paul’s Senior Living Community.
He was born in Greenville on November 14, 1940 to Albert E. Meeker, Jr. and Dorothy A. (Snyder) Meeker. Al was a 1958 graduate of Penn High School and served in the U. S. Army for five years, stationed in Japan. He retired from the Mechanical Engineering Department at Trinity Industries following over 30 years of employment.
Al was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Greenville. He also was a member of Greenville VFW Post #3374, The Italian Home Club, Greenville Family Moose #276, and B. P. O. E. #145 where he volunteered as a pin setter for the Greenville High School Gateways students’ Friday morning bowling. Al was an avid baseball fan, especially of the Pittsburgh Pirates and had attended Pirates games at all 30 Major League Baseball parks. He enjoyed traveling, reading, and music.
Al is survived by a sister, Cheryl (Larry) Davern of Meadville; a brother, David Meeker of Greenville; a special friend, Betty Free of Greenville; two nephews, Mike Meeker and Doug Meeker; an aunt, Marie Riley; and an uncle, Lewis Meeker.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services:
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, 8/26/25, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville. B. P. O. E. #145 will conduct an Elks Remembrance Service in the Funeral Home at 6:00 PM followed by the rendering of Military Honors by Greenville VFW Post #3374 Honor Guard. Inurnment will be in Shenango Valley Cemetery.
