Alan C. Snyder, age 83, of College Ave., Greenville, passed away Monday morning, December 15, 2025, in his residence.
He was born in Greenville on December 24, 1941 to Clayton and Cecil Snyder. Alan graduated from Greenville High School in 1959 and completed his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at Youngstown State University. He retired as an engineer from the AC & J Railroad, Jefferson, OH and previously had been employed by the Pennsy Corporation, the former Trinity Industries and Greenville Steel Car, and the Bessemer & Lake Erie Railroad.
Alan was a member of Zion’s Reformed United Church of Christ, Greenville. He was an avid golfer and had been a member and club champion of the former Greenville Country Club and a member of the Avalon Country Club. Alan had recorded at least one hole-in-one and had played with the golf pros during the Greenville Country Club’s annual Business and Industry Days. He was also known for his beautiful woodworking projects.
On April 14, 1968, Alan married the former Eleanor M. Lapadat; she passed away October 13, 2017.
He is survived by five sisters-in-law: Linda (Robert) Callahan of Ashtabula, OH, Angela (Phil) Scarola of Champion, PA, Yvonne (Shawn) Sullivan of Atlantic, PA, Theresa Baggett of Charleston, TN, and Mary Tatum of Cleveland, TN; several nieces and nephews; and his special friends, Robert and Barbara Stuver of Greenville.
In addition to his wife, Alan was preceded in death by his parents.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, 12/19/25, in Loutzenhiser-Jordan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 366-368 S. Main St. Greenville, with Rev. Steven Craft, Pastor of Zion’s Reformed U. C. C., officiating. Family and friends will be received in the Funeral Home on 12/19/25 from 12:30 PM until time of service. Burial will be in Shenango Valley Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Strayhaven Animal Shelter, 94 Donation Rd. Greenville, PA 16125 or St. Paul’s Senior Living Community, 339 E. Jamestown Rd. Greenville, PA 16125.
