Agnes Irene Maietta, age 92, of Greenville, passed away Monday evening, March 23, 2026, in St. Paul’s Senior Living Community.
She was born in Portage, PA on March 27, 1933 to Andrew and Mary (Vargo) Raptosh. Agnes attended Portage Area High School. She co-owned and operated Nick’s Bar & Grille with her husband from 1978 – 1994 and previously had been employed at Talon Industries, The Hub, and Thiel College.
Agnes was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church. She also was a member of Greenville Family Moose #276. Agnes was an awesome mother and grandmother, always staying up with the times. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. All her life she gardened and loved to cook, taking pride in her Sunday spaghetti and meatball dinners, holiday meals, ethnic dishes, Halupki, and Haluski. She also loved going to the casino. Agnes abounded with unconditional love, making sure that her entire family was the center of her universe and that everyone had a special sweet German chocolate cake for their birthday. She will be greatly missed.
On September 12, 1953, Agnes married Nicholas Maietta; he passed away April 2, 1999.
Agnes is survived by two sons, Michael J. (Debra) Maietta and Mark A. Maietta, both of Greenville, and three grandchildren: Stephen (Sarah) Maietta, Nathan Maietta and his fiancé Regan, and Natalie Maietta.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Charles N. Maietta; five sisters: Annie Raptosh, Julia Afton, Mary Havrilla, Catherine Weshalek, and Delores Tillman; and seven brothers: Andrew, Paul, Stephen, John, Edward, George, and Joe Raptosh.
